Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe

Discover one of the most emblematic monuments of Paris. Commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to celebrate his victories, the Arc de Triomphe stands at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, at the top of the Champs-Élysées.

Climb the 284 steps to the terrace for one of the finest panoramas of Paris: twelve radiating avenues, the Eiffel Tower, the Grande Arche de la Défense, and the whole sweep of the Champs-Élysées.

Beneath the arch burns the Flame of Remembrance, rekindled each evening at 6.30pm in memory of the Unknown Soldier.
